With a background in theology, Janice employs traditional techniques to explore religious and philosophical themes in her work. Her most recent paintings are made with encaustic (melted beeswax), an ancient medium used by some of the earliest Christian iconographers.
Open Studios Event: this year the artist is accepting visitors to their studio.
Directions: My studio is in The Steeple building, opposite the Co-op (on the High Street, in the centre of Newburgh). I am located in Studio 1, on the ground floor.
Access: The Steeple can be accessed from the High Street via stairs or ramp. Wheelchair accessible. Time-limited parking on High Street.
Points of Interest: Lindores Abbey is worth a wander. A couple of prominent standing stones in the area (Macduff's Cross, Mugdrum, the Abdie Stane) Newburgh is the start/end point of Fife's famous Coastal Path, and the walk from Newburgh to Balmerino is particularly beautiful.
