Observations made and recorded when out and about provide inspiration for Nicola’s paintings. She has a particular interest in isolated or tumbledown buildings in the landscape. Characterful birds, especially rooks and jackdaws, also capture her attention. She incorporates a variety of materials in her work, including textiles and found objects.
